The murder of Long Liz Stride
Joe Sostarich as Inspector Chandler, Mark Dacey as Sergeant Shaw,
Bob Luciano as The Constable
She was unaware that Mr. Hunt had singled her out to obsessively fantasize over as his ideal of womanhood. A love which haunted him nightly and created an intense love triangle of which she and John Chandler were completely unaware. Nor were they aware that Mr. Hunt’s passionate interest placed her in grave jeopardy.
Katie Florie as Melissa
Larry Brutofski as Mr. Hunt
in “Could There Be?”
Was Mr. Hunt the Ripper?
Or was he simply a deeply troubled man, tortured by loneliness, who avidly read the daily journals about the murders and was deeply affected by the bloody visceral nature of the crimes.
There were many suspects, but the Ripper was never found. He simply disappeared leaving behind him, not only a frustrated trail of theorists and would-be solutions to the crimes, but one of the most romanticized tales of a vicious serial killer ever to horrify . . . and fascinate . . . a civilized world.
Interestingly enough, even the fictionalized THE LODGER was based on a true story: A friend of the novelist, who owned a lodging house in 1888, was convinced that her lodger was none other than Jack the Ripper. Ms. Belloc-Lowndes was so intrigued by the story that she wrote her famous novel based upon her friend’s suspicions.
